The Million Dollar Retaining Wall...

Hey everyone. Dave has been working on the major construction project in our yard building a 112ft long and 4ft high retaining wall, so that we can level out the yard and have parking in the back. It's been quite the project and Jacob has been loving all the excitement and machinery! Last weekend we rented a mini excavator in order to clear out all the crap from the back corner of the yard. Then Dave built footings and had the concrete poured on Thursday and this weekend Dave and his Dad have been building the forms for the actual wall. We were planning on pouring the wall on Monday but have decided to wait until next Saturday. Lot's and lot's of work, but it's going to be really nice when it's finished...if we can ever afford to finish it!! Wow, it's sure expensive for materials these days, everything has doubled since we finished our basement - luckily Dave is able to do the work himself and we don't have to pay contractors!!
That's the update for now! Hopefully we get the yard completed so we can get out and enjoy what's left of summer!!

Our Trip to Oregon

Hanging by the pool at the Prong Horn Golf Resort...
Swimming with mom
Jacob, Max (4) and Tyler (15 months)
Jacob and I had a great trip with Grama down to Bend, Oregon. It was lot's of driving but well worth the visit with Lee, Jerry and the boys. We had a great time staying at their beautiful home and checking out Bend. We did lot's of shopping, some boating, checked out a beautiful golf resort and lot's of lounging. Jacob missed his Daddy lot's, but we had a good suprise for him when we got home....wait for it...Jacob is now sleeping through the night!!! With Lee's support and experience, I was able to let him "cry it out" for over and hour and that's all it took...he's now sleeping for at least 10 hours or more a night!! halaluah...is that how you spell that?! lol...anyways, it's about time - keep your fingers crossed for us that he keeps it up!!!

Beach bum
Harrison, working on crawling!
Linkyn likes chippies!
Kaleb, Nikao, Keana and Coral.
Jacob all pooped out!

My current favorite picture!

Jacob forgot his pj's and had to borrow Brooklyn's! Perfect photo opp!
He still looks like a boy even in pink!

Finally it feels like summer! We've been hanging out a bit at the beach - mainly in the shade! Jacob loves to check out the other kids and dip in the water.
We're heading to Oregon this coming weekend - hopefully it's not too hot for the drive! Friday night, before we leave Jacob is going to his first theatre...my long lost cousin is the lead in the Theatre Under the Stars Performance of Grease! It should be fun.
Talk to you all later

Jacob's First Boating Weekend...

We didn't go camping this weekend 'cause it was supposed to rain but we managed to get in 3 trips out on the boat, which made Dave pretty happy! The new motor runs really well and we didn't get stuck out in the middle of the ocean once!! lol

We also took Jacob up to parksville to his first fireworks display. Every time there was a loud one, he scrunched up his whole face, but he never closed his eyes or took them off the sky!!

Happy 7 month birthday Jaker Boy!!

Happy Belated Birthday Grama Dar!!
Wow, time does fly!! I can't believe that our little man is 7 months old already!! No crawling our walking yet, but he's starting to scoot in circles on his bum! The other day he was facing me one minute and then facing the other the next and he was still sitting up! I think he'll walk first - hopefully soon 'cause he's killing my back!

We went to the beach today with Ericka (Jacob's cousin), Mel, Gen, Jenna and all the kids...people walking by us were amazed that we all have babies that are the same age! I didn't have my camera with me today and unfortunately the battery just died so i'm unable to post a 7 month pic. Jacob played in the rocks for the first time today, but it was kind of a pain 'cause all he wanted to do was put them in his mouth. He also sat in the baby swing but he didn't like it and was shaking and freaking out.

Happy belated birthday to Grama Dar and Nana T...we've had a lot of special occasions this month with Fathers Day (for daddy and 3 Grampa's) and plus both Grama's and Nana's birthdays and to finish off the month we have Nana and Grampa's anniversary on the 29th - 16 years!!

Just to update everyone, we've decided not to sell our house. It's been a crazy 3 years and we've decided to sit back and enjoy life a little instead of working like crazy to sell right away. Dave has a 4 day weekend this weekend, so we are hopefully going to be going away!

We hope you're all doing well...drop us a line some time and let us know how you are!

Grama, Dave and Auntie Sammy

Hey everyone,

I'm getting really bad at keeping up with my Jacob's blog page! Sorry to all of you who check it regularily and there's never anything new!!

Well, we had a nice Father's Day yesterday, Dave spent the day finishing the siding on our house and then we went for dinner at Nana and Grampa's house. Yes, Dave did do some work on Father's Day but only because he was working on the siding on Saturday but then stopped so he could go buy a new motor for his boat so they didn't get finished! He got a '94 200 Evinrude and he is very pleased!! He's also very happy to finally be finished the siding on our house, it only took 14 months!! lol We are now 1 step closer to putting the house on the market!! I've been working on cleaning the windows, decluttering, gardening etc and Sammy has been doing some painting. We were going to go away on July long weekend to Lake Cowichan but now we're considering staying home so we can finally get our yard finished and get the house up for sale!!

Jacob is napping so i'm going to get some work done! Talk to you all later
