6 Months Old Today...

Our happy boy hanging out with mom in the kitchen

Sorry it's been so long since i've updated our blog page!! I can't believe he's 6 months old already! Just to update those of you who we haven't seen or talked to in a while, Jacob is now over 22lbs and wearing (mostly) 18 month clothes! He's eating rice pablum, yams, banana, peaches, pears, peas, teething cookies, chewing on apple, pear and his favorite right now is chewing on ice cubes! He also likes to drink water out of his sippy cup or our glasses. He's sleeping okay...not good...but better...ever since he was sick on Savary his sleep schedules have been all over the map. Dave put him to be the other night with a bottle of formula and my milk...it took over 2 hours before he finally got him down, but he slept for quite a while after that! Dave has a lot more patience then I have in that situation, I kept going upstairs and he kept waving me away even though Jacob was crying his head off! Dave said he kept looking towards the stairs checking to see if I was coming up...it was nice for me to have a bit of a break!! Jacob is still loving his Jolly Jumper from Grandma Dar, it's portable so we've been taking it outside so Jacob can jump while I work in the yard...he's just about grown out of it though, he's now on the highest notch! Jacob is also loving our cats and they actually don't mind him...they'll take love however they can get it...Grady will let Jacob pet him and even pull his ears...when he starts to scream and get excited the cat will usually take off...Orphan likes to curl up beside Jacob while he's nursing on the couch...when Orphan starts to purr, Jacob gets distracted and goes crazy trying to get the cat...it's pretty funny! Hmmm...he's starting to roll more sparatically now and starting to sit up on his own. I think that one of these days he's just going to start walking and skip all the other stages 'cause his legs are so strong. He's also started doing sit-ups...or at least partial sit-ups...he's working hard to get a six pack! lol

Dave's new job is going really good. He's a lot happier and says that he's glad to be working hard again!! He's been working tonnes and tonight he's going in at midnight to do some tide work, so he's been in bed since 6ish..

We've been doing tonnes of work in our yard...Jordan and Jess sold their house in 8 days and they have inspired us to get our house done and put it up on the market! Our goal is to put it up by August 1st but we'll see how that goes...we still have quite a bit of stuff to do!

Auntie Sammy is coming to live in our basement suite. It'll be nice for Jacob to spend more time with his Auntie and get to know her better. We're going to miss Gen and Harrison, but we know it's best for them and we wish them luck in their new place!!

That's all for now!

Talk to you all soon.

Our Week on Savary

Jacob is sad that the Canucks lost! Mommy is happy she doesn't have to watch any more hockey!!

Again, playing with the self-timer...I set the camera on a log and almost bailed trying to run into the picture!

Well it was an interesting week away....not one of our best vacations that's for sure! We left Saturday for Vancouver. We first stopped to visit Auntie Joyce, Jenny, Keith and cousin Kylie at their house in Deep Cove. Dave then helped Danny and Jenn move and Jacob and I spent some time with Auntie Sarah and Jill, which was fun. Sunday night, Dave's birthday, we went out for dinner at Joey Tomatoes with Auntie Sarah, Grandma Dar, Uncle Danny and Auntie Jenn. Bright and early Monday morning, the 3 of us set off for beautiful Savary Island. We arrived on Savary Monday afternoon and had a nice day Tuesday, walking, playing scrabble and we watched the hockey game. Wednesday am our little guy woke up with diareah, which escalated to projectile vomitting and a fever by the late afternoon...we took an emergency taxi back to Powell River and took Jacob into emergency, where he proceeded to giggle and smile and act really sick. We spent Wednesday night and Grandma and Grandpa's and at 3am I woke up to Jacob on fire next to me with a fever of 102.4...very scary. We headed back to Savary Thursday am. Friday was a beautiful day and Jacob was feeling okay (he still had the runs) so we went for a nice walk on the south beach. Friday night, I started to feel sick and by 11:30 I woke up with chills etc...i'll spare you the details..it was bad!...so Saturday am, we headed home. Sunday it rained all day....And that was our lovely vacation!! Jacob still has diareah...I took him to the doctor today for his check up...he lost 1 pound since last Wednesday, our doctor assures us that he is not de-hydrated and that as long as he keeps nursing he will be fine....our dr. also said that it's a good thing he's big and can afford to loose a pound or 2....lol..

talk to you all soon
