Happy 7 month birthday Jaker Boy!!

Happy Belated Birthday Grama Dar!!
Wow, time does fly!! I can't believe that our little man is 7 months old already!! No crawling our walking yet, but he's starting to scoot in circles on his bum! The other day he was facing me one minute and then facing the other the next and he was still sitting up! I think he'll walk first - hopefully soon 'cause he's killing my back!

We went to the beach today with Ericka (Jacob's cousin), Mel, Gen, Jenna and all the kids...people walking by us were amazed that we all have babies that are the same age! I didn't have my camera with me today and unfortunately the battery just died so i'm unable to post a 7 month pic. Jacob played in the rocks for the first time today, but it was kind of a pain 'cause all he wanted to do was put them in his mouth. He also sat in the baby swing but he didn't like it and was shaking and freaking out.

Happy belated birthday to Grama Dar and Nana T...we've had a lot of special occasions this month with Fathers Day (for daddy and 3 Grampa's) and plus both Grama's and Nana's birthdays and to finish off the month we have Nana and Grampa's anniversary on the 29th - 16 years!!

Just to update everyone, we've decided not to sell our house. It's been a crazy 3 years and we've decided to sit back and enjoy life a little instead of working like crazy to sell right away. Dave has a 4 day weekend this weekend, so we are hopefully going to be going away!

We hope you're all doing well...drop us a line some time and let us know how you are!

Hey everyone,

I'm getting really bad at keeping up with my Jacob's blog page! Sorry to all of you who check it regularily and there's never anything new!!

Well, we had a nice Father's Day yesterday, Dave spent the day finishing the siding on our house and then we went for dinner at Nana and Grampa's house. Yes, Dave did do some work on Father's Day but only because he was working on the siding on Saturday but then stopped so he could go buy a new motor for his boat so they didn't get finished! He got a '94 200 Evinrude and he is very pleased!! He's also very happy to finally be finished the siding on our house, it only took 14 months!! lol We are now 1 step closer to putting the house on the market!! I've been working on cleaning the windows, decluttering, gardening etc and Sammy has been doing some painting. We were going to go away on July long weekend to Lake Cowichan but now we're considering staying home so we can finally get our yard finished and get the house up for sale!!

Jacob is napping so i'm going to get some work done! Talk to you all later

6 Months Old Today...

Our happy boy hanging out with mom in the kitchen

Sorry it's been so long since i've updated our blog page!! I can't believe he's 6 months old already! Just to update those of you who we haven't seen or talked to in a while, Jacob is now over 22lbs and wearing (mostly) 18 month clothes! He's eating rice pablum, yams, banana, peaches, pears, peas, teething cookies, chewing on apple, pear and his favorite right now is chewing on ice cubes! He also likes to drink water out of his sippy cup or our glasses. He's sleeping okay...not good...but better...ever since he was sick on Savary his sleep schedules have been all over the map. Dave put him to be the other night with a bottle of formula and my milk...it took over 2 hours before he finally got him down, but he slept for quite a while after that! Dave has a lot more patience then I have in that situation, I kept going upstairs and he kept waving me away even though Jacob was crying his head off! Dave said he kept looking towards the stairs checking to see if I was coming up...it was nice for me to have a bit of a break!! Jacob is still loving his Jolly Jumper from Grandma Dar, it's portable so we've been taking it outside so Jacob can jump while I work in the yard...he's just about grown out of it though, he's now on the highest notch! Jacob is also loving our cats and they actually don't mind him...they'll take love however they can get it...Grady will let Jacob pet him and even pull his ears...when he starts to scream and get excited the cat will usually take off...Orphan likes to curl up beside Jacob while he's nursing on the couch...when Orphan starts to purr, Jacob gets distracted and goes crazy trying to get the cat...it's pretty funny! Hmmm...he's starting to roll more sparatically now and starting to sit up on his own. I think that one of these days he's just going to start walking and skip all the other stages 'cause his legs are so strong. He's also started doing sit-ups...or at least partial sit-ups...he's working hard to get a six pack! lol

Dave's new job is going really good. He's a lot happier and says that he's glad to be working hard again!! He's been working tonnes and tonight he's going in at midnight to do some tide work, so he's been in bed since 6ish..

We've been doing tonnes of work in our yard...Jordan and Jess sold their house in 8 days and they have inspired us to get our house done and put it up on the market! Our goal is to put it up by August 1st but we'll see how that goes...we still have quite a bit of stuff to do!

Auntie Sammy is coming to live in our basement suite. It'll be nice for Jacob to spend more time with his Auntie and get to know her better. We're going to miss Gen and Harrison, but we know it's best for them and we wish them luck in their new place!!

That's all for now!

Talk to you all soon.

Our Week on Savary

Jacob is sad that the Canucks lost! Mommy is happy she doesn't have to watch any more hockey!!
Jacob driving us to Savary!
The beatiful beach of Savary Island...
Me playing with the self timer mode on the camera...
Again, playing with the self-timer...I set the camera on a log and almost bailed trying to run into the picture!

Well it was an interesting week away....not one of our best vacations that's for sure! We left Saturday for Vancouver. We first stopped to visit Auntie Joyce, Jenny, Keith and cousin Kylie at their house in Deep Cove. Dave then helped Danny and Jenn move and Jacob and I spent some time with Auntie Sarah and Jill, which was fun. Sunday night, Dave's birthday, we went out for dinner at Joey Tomatoes with Auntie Sarah, Grandma Dar, Uncle Danny and Auntie Jenn. Bright and early Monday morning, the 3 of us set off for beautiful Savary Island. We arrived on Savary Monday afternoon and had a nice day Tuesday, walking, playing scrabble and we watched the hockey game. Wednesday am our little guy woke up with diareah, which escalated to projectile vomitting and a fever by the late afternoon...we took an emergency taxi back to Powell River and took Jacob into emergency, where he proceeded to giggle and smile and act really sick. We spent Wednesday night and Grandma and Grandpa's and at 3am I woke up to Jacob on fire next to me with a fever of 102.4...very scary. We headed back to Savary Thursday am. Friday was a beautiful day and Jacob was feeling okay (he still had the runs) so we went for a nice walk on the south beach. Friday night, I started to feel sick and by 11:30 I woke up with chills etc...i'll spare you the details..it was bad!...so Saturday am, we headed home. Sunday it rained all day....And that was our lovely vacation!! Jacob still has diareah...I took him to the doctor today for his check up...he lost 1 pound since last Wednesday, our doctor assures us that he is not de-hydrated and that as long as he keeps nursing he will be fine....our dr. also said that it's a good thing he's big and can afford to loose a pound or 2....lol..

talk to you all soon

It's been a long time...

Hey everyone...sorry it's been so long since i've updated our blog page. We've been pretty busy. A couple of weeks ago we went out and Lindsay took some family pictures for us. I think that they turned out really good!! We're so lucky to have Linds as our personal photographer to document Jacob growing up. I've been taking a photography class with my Mom over the past week and i'm finally learning how to use all of the features on my camera, so i will definately be posting more pictures soon.

This past weekend Jacob and I went over to Chilliwack with Nana, Grampa, Auntie Suz and Uncle Sam to Papa Sperling's funeral...sadly Papa passed away on April 17th at the age of 77 after a 6 month battle with cancer...unfortunately Jacob did not get to meet Papa but Great Nan assures us that Papa thoroughly enjoyed looking at the pictures on our blog. We will miss Papa dearly and I'm glad that Nana and Grampa took us with them so we had a chance to say goodbye.

Dave is making a career move...he has given his notice at the city and has decided to take a job offer back with Gadd Marine. He's done with the city as of this Friday and then he's going to have 1 week off before starting his new job on May 7th. We're not sure what we're going to do for his week off!? He's looking forward to the job change and the stability of a permanent position.

Hmmm..we have a new student living with us. Her name is Chris and she is from China...she doesn't speak english very well and she will be taking the ESL program at Malaspina. She's really nice. She's afraid of our cats, which is hillarious...I guess they don't have many pets in China...we stopped at Jordan's on our way home tonight and his dogs scared the crap out of her...it was really funny 'cause they were licking Jacob and barking and he was laughing at them and Chris was freaking out! lol

Anyways, my dinner is getting cold!!

Talk to you all soon.
